The Litchfield Hills Greenprint Collaborative uses sophisticated mapping technology to help identify and prioritize land protection opportunities of regional significance in Northwest Connecticut, but it doesn’t stop there. We use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to monitor conservation lands, to match land protection opportunities with potential funding sources, and to better understand the connections between the natural world and the places where we live and enjoy visiting. Informed by local knowledge, the GIS data we have collected and developed are a vital part of our conservation work together.
